ShinmaNiska • 3 yr. ago. i started with a midwest growkit, it worked ok. i quickly realized even a shoebox tek would have been better, so i switched to a hybrid shoebox/mono tub set up. this is what i'd suggest, or the uncle ben's tek is preferred to pf tek. and for spores r/mycobazaar is the way to go. 2.Just FYI, as a total newb I was looking for idiot-proof, so I used one of the kits from Midwest Grow Kits and it came with the already sterilized substrate jars, so this next time I'm excited to make my own substrate/sterilize them.
